New Mexico Basin Rainbow
While taking one of my best friends on his first overnight backcountry backpacking trip, we were hit with an afternoon rainstorm shortly after setting up camp. This is typical during monsoon season and happens with consistent regularity every afternoon.
The beauty in these afternoon storms is they often allow for beautiful lighting conditions once the rain has passed. That’s exactly what happen in this case as a double rainbow appeared moments after. With the luxury of having already setting up a shelter, I snapped this photograph from the comfort of my sleeping bag.
